NEWS: Chapel Hill/Carrboro Meals on Wheels
wins Bridge Builders Award!
Chapel Hill/Carrboro Meals on Wheels would like to thank The MLK University/Community Planning Corporation for honoring us with
one of their Bridge Builders awards at the 27th annual Martin Luther
King, Jr. memorial banquet on January 15. MOW has been serving the local community for 35 years delivering hot, nutritious meals to those individuals unable to prepare meals for themselves. Without our group of dedicated drivers, bakers and donors this endeavor would not be possible. We appreciate the recognition given by the
MLK Corporation to all these wonderful people who give their time and resources o help serve others.
Our thanks again to Ms. Terri Houston and the Board of Directors of the MLK University/Community Planning Corporation and to Mrs. Lillian Lee and the Awards Committee for this honor.
We received a grant for $1,500.00 from the Wachovia Wells Fargo Foundation and $25,000.00 from WALMART Foundation through their State Giving for NC Program. We also received a generous grant from the Strowd Roses Foundation
