What is in a “Meals on Wheels” meal?
- One serving of lean protein
- Two servings of either a fruit or a vegetable
- One serving of a complex carbohydrate (bread, rice, beans)
- Dessert
When are the meals delivered?
- Each weekday between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm
Who delivers the meals?
- One of our many talented and dedicated volunteers
Who prepares the meals?
- Meals are now provided by K&W Cafeterias, a professional food service that prepares and packages each day’s meals
How much does it cost?
- Meals cost $5.00 each, but recipients are only charged what they are able to pay
Who is eligible to receive a meal?
- We deliver meals to anyone, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or beliefs, who is unable to provide a meal for themselves. We deliver to the elderly, to the infirm, to those convalescing from an illness or surgery, and to those who have a demonstrated need
